I was fascinated by the ruins of these 19th-century buildings in these eight images. The light was amazing on the days of these shoots, alternating from overcast to brightly sunny to cloudy with turbulent blue skies — a perfect combination with the strangely beautiful structures in vine-choked settings I discovered. I loved the interplay of light and shadow with these richly textured forms and how it would shift rapidly to show different dimensions and create a dramatic sense of depth then suddenly reveal an entirely new perspective. Between adjustments, I clicked the shutter as quickly as I could, knowing that what I was seeing could all be gone in a few seconds.
Lighting by a Greater Power. Setting courtesy of man, nature, and time. Choices of how to capture it by me.
